Different Backgrounds. One Brotherhood.

The Phi Alpha Chapter is proud of the diverse cultures and backgrounds represented within our brotherhood. This diversity gives our brothers opportunities to learn from one another, broaden their perspectives, and build a deeper appreciation for cultures and communities around the world. These are some of the cultural backgrounds represented by our brothers.

Beyond Lincoln. Same Brotherhood.

Sigma Lambda Beta is organized into regions across the country, and Phi Alpha is proud to be part of the Mighty Midwest Region.

The region includes 10 chapters at:

• University of Nebraska-Lincoln
• Kansas State University
• University of Nebraska-Kearney
• University of Nebraska-Omaha
• Wichita State University
• Iowa State University
• Creighton University
• University of Iowa
• University of Minnesota
• Coe College

9 out of the 10 chapters are within a 4-hour drive from UNL, allowing us to build strong connections with other chapters and be able to travel to each other's campuses for events.

Annual Beta Mayhem

Beta Mayhem is an annual sports competition founded by Phi Alpha brothers in 2023. Held each spring, the event brings together brothers from across the Midwest Region for friendly competition in sports such as sand volleyball, basketball, soccer, and flag football. The winning team takes home the Beta Mayhem Trophy and earns the opportunity to host the event the following year.

More than a competition, Beta Mayhem was created to strengthen brotherhood across the Midwest. It gives undergraduate brothers the opportunity to connect with members from other chapters while providing alumni a chance to reconnect with one another and build relationships with the next generation of Betas.
